What is land sharing?

Land sharing is when a landholder lets someone else use their land for farming, grazing, or other agricultural purposes. It's a way to get land into productive use without selling it, and a way for new growers to get started without buying property.

For landholders

1. List your land on CoFarming with photos, size, soil and water details.
2. Review inquiries from people who want to use your land.
3. Choose who you share with, on your terms and timeline.
4. Use an agreement so both sides know where they stand. See our agreement templates.

For land seekers

1. Search the map for land that fits what you need.
2. Save searches to get alerts when matching land is listed.
3. Send a thoughtful inquiry with a clear intro about who you are and what you want to do.
4. Meet and agree on terms before you start.
